Shiloh National Military Park was established in 1894 at the location of a civil war battle fought
April 6-7, 1862. The park is located on the bank of the Tennessee River in Hardin County south of
Savannah, Tennessee. Shiloh Military Trails has scout hiking information on the organization's web site.

The Vicksburg National Military Park was established in 1899 to commemorate the battle for Vicksburg.
The Vicksburg Military Cemetery, USS Cairo Museum, and numerous monuments are located in the park.
Vicksburg Trails Commission has scout hiking information on the organization's web site. Vicksburg has other
historical attractions such as the Old Court House Museum .

The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is located near Chattanooga, Tennesse and
Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. This was the first of the military parks established at the civil war battlefields.
